Egypt to start exports via Georgia

Egypt intends to engage in exports through Georgia, the Georgian Foreign Minister Grigol Vashadze, who is on a visit to Cairo, told journalists on Friday.

During the visit, Vashadze met with his Egyptian counterpart, the parliamentary speaker and other government members.

"We discussed several promising directions in Georgian-Egyptian relations with the Economy and Foreign Trade Minister. An important topic of discussion was the use of transit facilities in Georgia. Our Egyptian partners are determined to engage in several types of export being transported across a number of countries including Georgia," he said.

The two sides also discussed prospects for deepening economic relations between the two countries, investment flow, implementation of infrastructure projects and creating joint ventures.
