The deputy director of the center for the design of new products at the company "Iran Hodrou", Nima Mosallah, reported that in the coming year according to the Iranian calendar, which starts from the 21st of March 2012 until the 20th of March 2013, the company will begin production of test cars with diesel engines, Iran News reports.
Diesel cars have a number of advantages over their gasoline counterparts. They have lower fuel consumption, and hence they are less polluting.
Currently in Europe, about half of vehicles produced are equipped with diesel engines.
