Iranian president denies nuclear bomb development

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said in an interview with ZDE (Germany) that if Tehran wanted to build a nuclear bomb it would have announced it, ITAR-TASS reports.

Ahmadinejad said that the he wants the tensions to end because they are based on injustice and discrimination.

Iran held its latest round of talks with five permanent members of the UN Security Council and Germany in Istanbul in late January 2012, proving fruitless. Tehran has urged for a dialogue on numerous occasions. Catherine Ashton, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, expressed readiness for negotiations with Tehran on behalf of the mediators on March 6.
