Kazakhstan’s Samruk-Kazyn Fund starts realizing housing program

 

The National Welfare Fund of Kazakhstan Samruk-Kazyn has started constructing the first residential building in Shymkent, KAZINFORM reports.

CEO of the fund Umirzak Shukeyev attended the construction site. He said that the process is part of the “Affordable Housing 2020” program.

The buildings will have third-class comfort at medium expense. One square meter will cost $800 in regions and $1000 in Astana and Alma-Ata.

70% of apartments will be sold on the market, 30% will be part of the lease fund for $80-100 per square meter.

The program for 2020 involves construction of 3.5 million square meters of housing. 200,000 square meters are planned to be built in 2013, 300,000 in 2014, 500,000 in 2015. Private investors are to cover at least 20% of expenses.

The first house of the Shanyrak complex in Shymkent will be built in 2 years. It will have 608 apartments and infrastructure, parking for over 100 vehicles. It is built by Konti, which covered 30% of expenses. 72 such houses will be built in Shymkent, starting this year.

Kazakhstan received 64 proposals for over 2 million square meters from all regions. There are a total of 2 million proposals already.
