Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin may condemn Gazprom this Friday. The Energy Ministry says that the company had failures in providing Europe with gas this winter. Russian consumers were saved by reserves of private gas extractors, Kommersant reports.
Putin visited Kirishy for the gas council. The main topic for discussion is the winter gas supplies. Special attention will be paid to problems of European gas supply in late January – early March. Minister Sergey Shmatko said that Russia reached a record of gas extraction of 670.7 billion cubic meters annually.
The Energy Ministry stresses on support of private gas extractors, improvement of control over unfulfilled obligations of the monopoly. Minister Shmatko requests authorization to negotiate Gazprom’s investment program and its fulfillment.
