Board of Echo Moskvy radio ends terms of office

Vladimir Varfolomayev, Deputy Editor-in-Chief and shareholder of Echo Moskv, said that the terms of office of the redio station have ended, RIA Novosti reports.


Gazprom Media, the main shareholder of the station, ordered off-year dismissal of the board in mid-February. Election of the new board was set for March 29 instead of June.


Alexey Venediktov, Editor-in-Chief of Echo Moskvy, his deputy Varfolomeyev, directors Yevgeny Yasin and Alexander Makovsky are expected to leave.


Director General of Echo Moskvy Yuri Fedutinov, Director General of Svyazinvest Vadim Semenov and businessman Yevgeny Trubin are expected to be part of the new board.


According to June 2008, the board consisted of lawyer Alexander Berezin, Deputy Editor-in-Chief Vladimir Varfolomayev, Editor-in-Chief Alexey Venediktov, Deputy Director General of Gazprom Media Igor Goykhberg, Deputy Chairman of the Council of the Research Center of Private Law Alexander Makovsky, Deputy Director General of the financial-economic department of Gazprom Media Sergey Petrov, head of the legal department of Gazprom Media Yan Piskunov, Director General of Gazprom Media Nikolai Senkevich, science chief of the National Research University of the Higher School for Economy Yevgeny Yasin.
