Iran ends oil supply to 2 Greek companies

Iran has stopped supplying the Greek companies Hellenic Petroleum and Motor Oil Hellas due to debts, ITAR-TASS reports.

Iran announced a reduction of oil supplies to British and French companies in February 2012 in response to new EU sanctions banning Iranian oil exports on July 1st 2012.

The EU buys about 18% of Iranian oil. Its main consumers in Western Europe are Italy, Spain and Greece. The latter has been purchasing over a quarter of all Iranian oil imports to Europe.
