Iran is speeding up exploration for gas in the Caspian Sea, Petroleum Minister Rostam Hasemi said today, Trend reports.
Three exploratory boreholes will be drilled at the first stage of studies. A center for support of the processes will be formed in Mazandaran Province.
Hasemi noted that Iran will need more platforms for exploration in the area.
Iran started drilling the first borehole from the Amir Kabir Platform in the Caspian Sea in mid-February 2010.
