Iran plans to start oil extraction from South Pars field before the end of the year

The Director General of the Oil and Gas Company "Pars", Musa Suri, said that
over the next two months the company intends to begin drilling  oil
reservoirs in the South Pars gas field. Before the end of the year (by
March 2013) the field is expected to produce oil, Iran News reports.

Musa Suri added that the development of an oil reservoir in this field
was entrusted to the Petro Iran company in 2005. The company is
currently installing a drilling platform in this reservoir.
