Turkmenistan’s Khasavyurt Natural Park marks 80th anniversary

The Khasavyurt Natural Park of Turkmenistan is marking its 80th anniversary today, Neytralny Turkmenistan reports.

The natural park includes parts of the Caspian Sea coastline. It is the crossing point of Middle Asian and East African migration routes of birds. Over 300 bird types inhabit the park.

It also has three areas: the Khazarsky, Ogurjaly Island and the Esengulsky. The natural park covers 270,000 hectares. Turkmenistan protects the natural ecosystems ranging from the southern borders of Turkmenistan to the Ekerem Village.

The place has dozens of endangered vertebrates, 660 plants and about 30 types of mushroom.
