SOCAR to produce high-pressure polypropylene, polyethylene by 2014

The chemical section of the State Oil Company of the Azerbaijani Republic (SOCAR), Azzerikimya, continues modernization. Azerikimya head Mukhtar Babayev said at the SOCAR OGPC Forum in Baku that they plan to start production of high-pressure polypropylene and polyethylene, ABC reports.

Azerikimya plans to produce 165,000 tons of ethylene, 200,000 tons of propylene, 160,000 tons of polyethylene and 160,000 high-pressure polyethylene by 2020, Babayev says.

Azerikimya was incorporated in SOCAR on April 2, 2010, as ordered by Azerbaijani president.
