Ilham Aliyev sums up economic development of Azerbaijan in first quarter of 2012

A meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers dedicated to the socio-economic development in the first quarter of 2012 and the upcoming tasks chaired by President Ilham Aliyev took place on Monday, Trend reports.

Ilham Aliyev emphasized the growth of the international economic rating of Azerbaijan and said that the focus of the Azerbaijani economy has largely shifted onto social issues.

"In the first quarter the international position of Azerbaijan was strengthened," president said and stressed that this year Azerbaijan will fulfil its mandate as a member of the UN Security Council. In the first quarter of 2012 Azerbaijan had successful presentations at the Economic Forum in Davos and the Munich Conference on Security and Nuclear Security Summit held in Korea, Aliyev said. Baku has also hosted a meeting of the second session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the "Euronest."
