Asian Development Bank to grant $140 million for Kobuleti road construction

The Asian Development Bank will grant a second tranche worth $140 million for construction of the Kobuleti road. Georgian Finances Minister Dmitry Gvindadze and Vice President of the Asian Development Bank Xiao Jao signed the deal today, Business Georgia reports.

The first tranche was worth $119 million.

Georgian Minister for Regional Development and Infrastructure Ramaz Nikolaishvili said that the new road will reduce traffic density at the resort city. Construction will take 2-2.5 years. A bypass will be built to Batumi after.
