Russia will test its assault drone in 2014, RIA Novosti cites Deputy Defense Minister Alexander Sukhorukov as saying.
Russian General Staff Chief Army General Nikolai Makarov announced tests for late 2012.
The contract for drone development was signed between Sokol and Tranzas last year. Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin said last week that the issue is under consideration.
Makarov earlier praised Tranzas’ and Sokol’s work. He expressed regret that tens of billions of rubles were wasted on drone development by Vega before.
