SOCAR opens first automated gas serving station in Ukraine

SOCAR Energy Ukraine opened the first automated (working without staff) gas service station in the country, Trend reports, referring to the company.

The first social automated gas service complex in Ukraine, SOCAR Rapid, which will work without staff, is located in the Odessa region.
"If one cannot do anything about the oil price increases, then at least a rational use of available resources can be carried out. After careful examination of the oil market, we decided to adapt to Ukrainian consumers using an innovative approach," the head of SOCAR Energy Ukraine, Elchin Mamedov, says. " For this we have focused on automatic stations, where in addition to refuelling the car, you can eat and buy hot or cold drinks and snacks from vending machines. The advantage is that such a station does not require staff and obviously has lower operating costs."

Thus, the gas station SOCAR Rapid in Odessa region has neither refuelling nor operators, there is only one specialist present. He will oversee the operation of the equipment, and if necessary explain the rules for using client equipment and monitor the cleanliness of the area.

The world's first automatic, or, as they are called, "cold" gas station, appeared in Finland in the 1980s, and they have been widely used in Europe. In France today, about 50% of the fuel used in the country, passes through such stations.
