Hungarian Prime Minister Victor Orban said that MOL was leaving the Nabucco, a project to transport gas from the Caspian Region and the Middle East to Europe, Trend reports.
MOL owns 100% of shares of FGSZ, one of the six shareholders of Nabucco. Other partners of the project are the Bulgarian Energy Holding, Transgaz (Romania), Botas (Turkey), OMV (Austria) and RWE (Germany).
The Shah Deniz Field is considered the main source of gas for Nabucco. MOL officials say that the sources of gas and financing of Nabucco have not been determined yet, while expenses keep increasing. The final price of the project has not been set yet.
