Azerbaijani Minister for Energy and Industry Natig Aliyev said that capacity of the Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum Gas Pipeline may be doubled from 16 billion to 30-35 billion cubic meters with extraction of additional 16 billion cubic meters as part of the second stage of Shah Deniz development, APA reports.
Construction of the Trans-Caspian Pipeline and pumping Turkmen gas for the Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum pipeline should increase capacity up to 55 billion cubic meters.
Aliyev said that Azerbaijan is willing to realize the project and will do its best. But Turkmenistan has not determined its position yet. Negotiations of the problem continue.
