The chairman of the Adjarian government, Levan Varshalomidze, met the
Secretary General of the UN World Tourism Organization, Taleb Rifai.
The Georgian Minister of Economic Development, Zurab Popolikashvili,
and the head of the Adjarian Department of Tourism and Resorts were
present at the meeting. Taleb Rifai was appointed recently and it is
his first visit to Batumi, Trend reports.
Rifai said that he likes Batumi and that they would continue
cooperation in other spheres. In 2011 Batumi plans to hold a tourism
conference to attract more tourists.
