The state center of hygiene and epidemiology of Azerbaijan has started
seasonal monitoring of sea water on the beaches of Baku, Trend
reports, citing a message of the Ministry of Health.
Samples show that the beaches in Shikhovo and Sakhil have high
pollution density in the sea water. Sewage from the villages of
Bibi-eybat, Badamdar, Lokbatan and the ‘20th section’ combines in the
sanitary zone of Shikhovo beach. Sewage from the waste treatment
facility accumulates in Sakhil beach. The two zones will be forbidden
for swimming.
The center of hygiene and epidemiology notified the executive powers
in Baku, the Ministry of Emergencies, Ministry of Ecology and Natural
Resources and the police headquarters about the situation.
