Trade turnover between Iran and Armenia increases 40%

Trade turnover between Iran and Armenia rose 40% in the first quarter
of 2010, reaching $67 million, arka.am reports on Friday, citing
Armenian deputy Minister of Economy, Aru Petrosyan.


Speaking at the Armenian-Iranian business forum in Yerevan, he said
that the two countries will continue expanding the trade-economic
sphere of cooperation. According to the Armenian National Statistical
Service, Armenian exports to Iran amounted to $9.1 million (3.1% of
Armenia's total exports), showing 83.4% growth, while imports of
Iranian goods reached $54.2 million (34.4% growth). Total imports from
Iran amounted to $56.2 million (24.2% growth), or 5% of total Armenian
imports.
