Georgia's State Budget for 2012 increased by 200.6 million laris ($123.63 million). The government has already submitted the draft budget changes to the parliament.
As the Parliamentary Secretary to the Government Gia Khuroshvili explained, the growth of the budget is connected to the income received from the sale of licenses for the use of natural resources. Also, the EU has allocated additional grants to fund the implementation of the reform.
According Khuroshvili, additional funds will be spent on infrastructure projects in the Kakheti and Imereti regions, rehabilitation of public schools and the implementation of flood protection works. According to the presented project, the expenditure budget increased by 139.5 million laris ($86 million).
