Gasprom, the Italian oil company Eni and the French company EdF will sign a memorandum on the gaspipe-line "South Stream", RIA Novosti reports, citing a source in the Kremlin.
Russian president Dmitry Medvedev and his French counterpart Nicolas Sarkozy will meet with the representatives of Russian and French business in St. Petersburg, which is hosting the International Economic Forum.
It is expected that Electricite de France (EdF) will hold a 20% share in the project.
