Kazakhstan raises gold production by 8.8% in January-April

12,312 tons of raw and semi-manufactured gold was produced in Kazakhstan in January-April 2012, which is 8.8% more than in the same period in 2011, News Kazakhstan reports, citing the republic's Statistics Agency.

According to the agency, production of silver grew 1.58 times to 307,812 tons, while raw zinc reached 105,202 tons (up 0.5%).

In 2011 Kazakhstan produced 36,670 tons of raw gold, which is 21.1% more than in 2010.
