Azerbaijani industrial production drops

Azerbaijani industrial production dropped by 13.8% in April 2012 compared with March (3364.6 million manats), ABC reports.

The highest production level was registered in October 2011 (4797.4 million. Industrial production totaled 12262.5 million manats (AZN), $15.552 billion, in January-April 2012, according to the exchange rate of 0.79 AZN per USD, a drop of 2.6% compared with January-April 2011. Production in April reached 2899.4 million manats. The level in March remains the best in 2012 (3364.6 million manats).

Industrial production in 2011 totaled 34545.4 billion AZN ($43.728 billion), dropping by 5% compared with 2010. Industrial production totaled 3379.9 million AZN in December, 4797.4 million AZN in October (record). Industrial production totaled 27434.6 million AZN (+2.6), including 2766.9 million AZN in November (best monthly indicator of 2010).

State industrial production in January-April 2012 totaled 2193.2 million AZN with an increase of 3.4%, private production totaled 10069.3 million AZN, dropping by 3.9%. The state share of industry was 17.9%, private share was 82.1%.

The mining industry totaled 9595.7 million AZN in January-April, which is 78.2% of total industrial production, the processing industry totaled 1988.6 million AZN (15.5%), the electric industry and gas industries totaled 621 million AZN (5.6%), the rest totaled 57.2 million AZN (0.5%), which is water supply, water treatment and utilization of waste. Mining production dropped by 5.3%, the processing industry increased by 15.5%, electric and gas industry increased by 5.6%, water supply and utilization of waste by 5%.

The GDP in January-April 2012 increased by 0.3% on the background of an industrial reduction of 2.6%.
