Russia to lift anti-Libyan embargo

 

Russia will lift the embargo on finances and trade of petroleum and weapons with Libya, spokesman of the Russian Foreign Ministry Alexander Lukashevich said, RIA Novosti reports.

Russian signed a decree on fulfilling resolution of the UN Security Council on May 6, introducing the embargo.

The embargo will now be lifted. Financial operations with Libyan petroleum companies, Central Bank and the Foreign Bank of Libya will now be permitted.
