Azerbaijan develops G4 mobile networks

Azercell Telekom, a mobile operator of Azerbaijan, is launching the 4G network (LTE – Long Term Evolution) in Baku, Trend reports.

The company’s CEO Ali Agan said that it coincides with the Eurovision Song Contest.

Hot spots can also be found at the Primorsky National Park. People may use DATA maps running on the LTE standard.

4G technologies allow data to transferred via mobile networks with a traffic of 100Mb/sec for mobile phones and 1Gb/sec for stationary phones, exceeding G3 traffic 10-fold.

The system is only available in Baku so far. The number of hot spots will double by the end of the year.
