Sberbank will announce its purchase at the Turkish market, deputy head of the bank Andrey Donskikh said, RIA Novosti reports.
Sberbank head German Gref said on Thursday that Turkey is a priority of the bank’s foreign expansion. It purchased VBI (Austria) in February.
The bank was reportedly negotiating a purchase of Denizbank AS for a higher price than proposed by Qatar National Bank SAQ (QNB) in Turkey. Dexia SA had financial problems at that time.
