Georgian experts predict increase in prices for bread

The Association of breadmakers and graingrowers of Georgia does not rule out an
increase in the prices fo bread in Georgia. The world market price of
wheat has increased 10%, caused by potential drought in exporting
countries, Georgia Online reports.


The chairman of the Association of grain growers said that, if the
tendency of growth in world prices continues, an increase in prices for
bread in Georgia cannot be avoided. According to him, the price of
bread depends on the wheat crops in Russia, Ukraine and Kazakhstan,
while based on current forecasts only the Russian wheat harvest could
be reduced from 125 to 85 million tons.
