The euro now exceeds 41 rubles, while the dollar is worth more than 33 rubles, MICEX-RTS says. The price per euro increased by 0.47 rubles to 41.06 rubles at 2.40 pm, the highest rate since January 6. The dollar increased by 0.36 rubles to 33.12 rubles, the highest since mid-2009, RIA Novosti reports.
The euro rate at Forex totaled $1.2430 on Thursday.
German unemployment reached its lowest point since 1998. The indicator was 6.7% against 6.8% in April. The number of the unemployed dropped to 2.855 million, compared with 2.963 million in April. It is the lowest level since May 1992. The number of the unemployed increased by 18,000 last month.
The Spanish bond level is high. A single trading session increased by 0.3594 rubles to 40.8530 rubles per euro at 3 pm. It was at 41.0700/41.2401 at the end of trade on Thursday. The trade volume reached 251.061 million euros with 1132 deals. Banks registered a rate of 40.6201-41.1200 rubles per euro with the last deal at 41.1200 rubles per euro.
The price for July futures of WTI (Light Sweet Crude Oil) in New York increased by $0.17 (0.19%) to $87.99 per barrel. July futures for Brent increased in price by $0.14 (0.14%) to $103.61 per barrel.
Housing sales at the secondary market of the US dropped by 5.5% to 95.5 points, compared with March.
Japanese industrial production increased by 0.2% in March, despite average forecasts of 0.5%.
The US Energy Department will announce an increase of US oil reserves by 1 million barrels, totaling 383.5 million barrels, as forecast for Thursday. The Armenian Petroleum Institute said that oil reserves dropped by 353,000 barrels.
