Reconstruction of gas distribution system in Baku to cost Azerbaijan 1 billion euros

By September, the project for the reconstruction and modernization of
the gas distribution system of Baku and the Absheron peninsula will be
ready, the head of the production association "Azerigas" of SOCAR
(State Oil Company of Azerbaijan) Akbar Hajiyev said, Trend reports.

Hajiyev said that the reconstruction project will be accomplished
after several years and will require an investment of around 1
billion euros. The project will be funded from borrowed funds.

The gas system of Baku and the Absheron peninsula is the largest in the
country and covers about 650 thousand subscribers.
