The Rosneft State Company wants to purchase BP’s share in THK-BP, Interfax reports.
The purchase may cost $25-30 billion.
AAR, a Russian group of shareholders, expressed interest in the purchase earlier as well.
Russian partners of BP threaten to block attempts of the British company to sell its shares to third sides. They prohibit BP to present confidential information about THK-BP without approval of AAR, including details of the shareholders’ agreement, investment plans and business information. Thus, it may be a problem for the due diligence prospect purchaser.
