A gas consortium led by Russia's LUKOIL has signed an agreement with the
Iraqi Oil Ministry on the development of an oil field in Iraq, Trend
reports, citing a source in the Iraqi government.
LUKOIL, in consortium with the Japanese company Inpex Group, received a
license to explore and develop a tenth oil block, which is located
in the provinces of Muthanna and Dhi Qar, and has an area of
approximately 5.5 square kilometers. The Russian company is the owner
of a 60% stake in the consortium.
