Turkmenistan to become guest of SCO meeting

A governmental delegation of Turkmenistan will take part in the XII
meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation
Organization (SCO), held in Beijing from June 5-7, Trend reports
quoting an official Turkmen source.


This issue was discussed at a recent governmental meeting at which
President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said that "the regular
participation of the Turkmen side in such meetings serves as a means of
developing a positive dialogue with major international
organizations and strengthening mutually-beneficial bilateral
cooperation at the international level."

The Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) is a permanent
intergovernmental international organization, which was founded on
June 15, 2001 in Shanghai by Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Russia,
Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
