Russian businessman Mindia Gulua, leader of the For Modernized Georgia, wants to purchase shares of the Georgian Water and Power Company (GWP) for $100 million, Business Georgia reports.
Gulua said that he wants to purchase 25% of shares of Georgian Railway.
The water company services 1.5 million Georgians and 880,000 voters. He offered to reduce water pries by 20%.
He noted that President Saakashvili prevents purchases of Georgian Railway, Telasi, Georgian Water and Power Company and Kaztransgaz by foreign companies. Gulua says that Saakashvili’s clan and supporters have most shares in the companies.
