The Dagestani Economic Forum - 2012 continues its work in the town of
Kaspiisk in Dagestan. Deputy prime minister and plenipotentiary presidential envoy
to the North Caucasus Federal District, Alexander Khloponin, and
the president of Dagestan, Magomedsalam Magomedov, as well as heads of
delegations of the participant-states in the forum arrived today at
the "Expo-Caspian" center where the forum is being held, RIA-Novosti
reports.
Alexander Khloponin noted that the Dagestani Economic Forum - 2012
greatly differs in quality from last year.
He stressed that despite media reports about the federal center
spending incredible amounts of money on the North Caucasus, the Dagestani
forum with its international guests such as investors and experts is
the best proof against such reports. "What we see today proves that
people are not afraid to invest money in the economy and create jobs," Khloponin said.
"Much is being done to the region in order to make it more attractive
to investors. We plan to develop priority areas. There is an
understanding that the North Caucasus can only develop through joint
efforts and it is important that this forum is given due attention at
the highest level." the head of Dagestan, Magomedsalam Magomedov, said.
He also stressed that Dagestan is one of the leaders in the country in
terms of labour resources.
