SOCAR has concluded development of the second exploration borehole at Umid, 1news.az reports.
The borehole is 6400 meters deep. It gives 1.2 million cubic meters of gas and 150 tons of condensate.
SOCAR Vice President Khoshbakht Yusifzade said that extraction would start in September 2012. Pipeline construction will end in late August to connect it to Azerbaijani networks.
Drilling of the second borehole in Umid was concluded in March 2012. It has over 200 billion cubic meters of gas and 40 million tons of condensate. Umid is located in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea 75 km away from Baku.
