Second Dagestani Forum brigns 100 billion rubles of investment to Dagestan

Agreements worth about 100 billion rubles have been signed as a result
of the Second Dagestani Economic Forum, deputy head of the government
of the republic of Dagestan, Rizwan Gazimagomedov said in an interview
to ITAR-TASS.

Gazimagomedov said that 18 out of the planned 30 agreements have been
signed. More than 13 investment projects from last year's forum
are already in the process of implementation, he said.

Gazimagomedov stressed that despite internal risks, the neighbors of
Dagestan recognize its competitive advantages provided by the
infrastructure.

The goals for the increase of investment potential of the region are
described in a program for the development of the region in the short
term perspective (from 2012-2017) and in the long term perspective
(until 2025). According to Gazimagomedov, the main emphasis of the
program is placed on the training of local personnel for the
development of the regional economy, creation of favorable conditions
for living and raising funds. It also focuses on subsidizing interest
rates for priority investment projects and creation of sites with
ready-made infrastructure of the public-private partnership.

The vice-premier of Russia, the plenipotentiary presidential envoy to
the North Caucasus Federal District Alexander Khloponin proposed to
enlarge the forum and call it the Southern Economic Forum in order to
demonstrate the potential of the whole region.
