Turkey to replace Iranian oil with Libyan and Saudi Arabian

Turkey plans to reduce purchases of Iranian oil and replace it with Libyan and Saudi Arabian products, Turkish Minister for Energy and Natural Resources Taner Yildiz said, Trend reports.

Turkey will purchase 1 million tons of oil in Libya. Negotiations with Saudi Arabia continue. Negotiations with Riyadh would increase oil purchases.

Yildiz said that US decisions on Turkey have no legal basis and the latter carries out independent energy policy.

The US have recently removed India, Malaysia, South Korea, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Turkey and Taiwan from the list of sanctions for their reduction of Iranian oil purchases.
