Nordgas co-owner sues Gazprom

Nordgas co-owner Farhad Ahmedov has filed a lawsuit against Gazprom to the London International Arbitrary Court, APA reports.

Ahmedov used R.E.D.I. (Cyprus), where Nordgas holds 49% of shares) to lawsuit Gazprom (owner of 51% of Nordgas) for losses of Nordgas and reduction of its share price.

Gazprom signed a deal, becoming responsible for normal operation of Nordgas in 2005. Gazprom proposed unbeneficial conditions for Nordgas in late 2011.

Gazprom and Nordgas failed to reach common grounds on setting the gas price. Gazprom Mezhregiongaz wanted to buy 1000 cubic meters of gas for 828 rubles, which is 38% below the price set by the Department for Economic Expertise and price Formation of Gazprom of December 2011. The reasonable price was 1143.3 rubles per 1000 cubic meters.

R.E.D.I. demands Gazprom to process gas according to old conditions and pay off the loss.
