Rosneft and the American company ExxonMobil have signed an agreement about
joint development of the deposits with oil that is difficult to extract in
Western Siberia, Interfax reports. The companies also signed an
agreement about the involvement of ExxonMobil in the joint Arctic
scientific center.
At the beginning of June the head of ExxonMobil, Rex Tillerson, said
that the company had already started negotiations with Rosneft
about the development of deposits in Western Siberia.
In mid-April Rosneft and ExxonMobil signed a contract according to
which Russia gets 30% of American oil and gas giant in Texas, the Gulf of Mexico
and the Canadian province of Alberta. In addition, the corporations decided
to create two joint plants on the coastlines of the Black Sea and the Kara Sea.
