The Azerbaijani company SOCAR will begin construction of an oil refinery in Poti in August-September 2012, Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili said at a meeting with residents of Poti on Sunday, Trend reports.
The President of Georgia noted that the construction of the refinery will take two years, after which crude oil and petroleum products can be processed in Georgia. He pointed out 2000 staff will be provided for implementation of refinery operations.
The President of Georgia discussed with citizens the projects that will be involved in Poti.
