"Zarubezhneft" retains an interest in working in Iran, the deputy director general of "Zarubezhneft", Artem Gharibyan, said at the APEC-2012 summit in St. Petersburg, RBC reports. "Iran is of interest to us as a country with one of the largest reserves, but we need government approval," he said.

Garibyan said that his company is conducting negotiations and consultations with Iran, but no specific agreements have been reached yet.


"Zarubezhneft" is 100% owned by Russia, but mostly operates abroad.
