The European Union has postponed financial aid for Armenia, despite promisses for parliamentary polls of May 6, News Armenia reports.
Armenia will receive financial aid if the elections are held according to European standards. Peter Stanon, press secretary of European Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighbourhood Policy Stefan Fule, said that the parliamentary polls were disappointing. Brussels expects better performance at the presidential polls of 2013. About 1.5 billion euro may be provided.
The EU urged Armenia to take defects registered by ODIHR/OSCE before the presidential polls.
