Armavia denies negotiations with Russian investors

Press secretary of Armavia said on Facebook that information on purchase of the company by Russian investors is false, Gazeta.ru reports.

According to media, Armavia owner Mikhail Bagdasarov received an offer from MP Arutyun Pambukyan to purchase the company for $55 million. Pambukyan owns MaxGroup with its headquarters in Yerevan. It is one of the largest trade-industrial structures in Armenia, also importing gasoline and diesel fuel.

Armavia has been having financial problems. Rosaeronavigatsiya stopped servicing Armavia planes die to debts. Armavia owes $5.3 million to the Zvartnots Airport, due to be paid until September 2012.
