Turkey denies imports of Iranian petroleum

 

Turkish Minister for Energy and Natural Resources Taner Yildiz has denied information on purchase of Iranian petroleum for gold, Trend reports.

Botas makes all payments in dollars, Turpas in liras.

Some media reported that Turkey started paying for Iranian oil and gas with gold in March 2012, because Iran lost access to SWIFT in March. Reports said that gold export from Turkey to Iran has doubled since March 2012. 60 tons of gold were exported from Turkey to Iran in March-May 2012.
