Iraq plans no new pipelines to Turkey

Iraq does not plan to build any new oil pipelines to Turkey to transport hydrocarbons to Europe. Iraq has recently launched water ports, increasing extraction and exports of oil in Iraq.

On the other hand, Iraq is unaware whether the Kurdistan Autonomy is exporting oil to Turkey. Baghdad threatened to take measures if Turkey does import Kurdish oil without Iraqi approval.

The Turkish Minister for Energy and Natural Resources, Taner Yildiz, said that Turkey and Iraq are considering constructing a new oil pipeline. The Kirkuk-Yumurtalik pipeline may have its capacity increased multifold in 3 years.
