Baku has started the 4th session of the trilateral coordination council for realization of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars Railway, SalamNews reports.
Azerbaijani Transport Minister Ziya Mamedov noted that Azerbaijan has been cooperating with Turkey and Georgia to realize the project well. The railway will be launched in late 2012 – early 2013, he says.
Turkish Minister for transport and Communications Binali Yildirim and Georgian Minister for Regional Development and Infrastructure Ramaz Nikolashvili discussed the importance of the project. They emphasized that the railway will connect Asia and Europe.
A protocol will be signed at the end of the session.
