TNK-BP plans to take part in construction of the Nord Stream Gas Pipeline. It filed requests to BP, AAR and Nord Stream AG, the operator of the pipeline construction, with 51% of shares belonging to Gazprom, Interfax reports.
TNK-BP is interested in the Yamal gas reserves.
According to reports on June 29, Gazprom, owner of 51% of Nord Stream AG shares, decided to build the third and fourth branches of the Nord Stream Pipeline. Gazprom CEO Alexey Miller said that one branch will go to the UK.
Nord Stream was launched in November 2011, supplying Europe with gas. The second branch is expected to be launched in October.
TNK-BP CEO Mikhail Fridman resigned on July 2. TNK-BP is one of the largest Russian petroleum companies. It extracted 84 million tons of oil in 2011 and had a net profit of $9 billion.
