The State Oil Fund of the Azerbaijani Republic (SOFAR) considers becoming an investor of the Trans-Anatolia Gas Pipeline (TANAP), its CEO Shakhmar Movsumov said at a press conference rounding up the first half of 2012, Trend reports.
TANAP is just as an important a strategic project as the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan Pipeline.
Azerbaijan and turkey signed an intergovernmental deal on TANAP construction on June 26. In December, they signed a memorandum of understanding to found a consortium for construction of a pipeline to transport gas from the Shah Deniz Field to Europe through Turkey. 20% of TANAP share belongs to BOTAS (Turkey) and 80% to SOCAR (Azerbaijan).
