China requests Kazakhstan to simplify visa regime

Kazakhstan should simplify its visa regime with China to acheive more efficient realization of joint projects, Chinese Deputy Commerce Minister Ziang Yaoping said at the sixth session of the subcommittee for trade-economic cooperation of the Kazakh-Chinese committee for cooperation, Trend reports.

He reminded the subcommittee that the two states want to reach a trade turnover of $40 billion by 2015.

China is encouraging Kazakhstan to sign an intergovernmental deal on temporary employment. Kazakhstan has over 6,000 Chinese specialists realizing three petroleum projects. 6,200 workers and specialists will arrive from China by 2014 for realization of the Beynau-Shymkent, Kazakhstan-China pipelines and Zhanagol factory construction, it was stated by Zhanar Mambeyev, spokesman of the National Economic Chamber Atameken Union at the last session of the coordination council of the KazEnergy Association in May 2012.

More foreigners will arrive for realization of 11 other major projects in Kazakhstan, because Kazakhstan lacks its own skilled labour, she noted.
